Taupo Activities and AttractionsHUKA PRAWN PARK
On the banks of the beautiful Waikato River, just 10 minutes from Greenfields Lodge you’ll find New Zealand’s only Prawn Park. It’s the home of ‘Shawn the Prawn’ where you will enjoy a fascinating day of education, adventure and entertainment and there is heaps for the whole family to enjoy!
ORAKEI KORAKO CAVE AND THERMAL PARK
This fantastic park is featured in AA's 101 Must-Do's, situated just 25 minutes north of Taupo lies "The Hidden Valley" of Orakei Korako Cave. Wander through a valley of bubbling hot springs, gushing geysers and unimaginable natural beauty. Access to Orakei Korako is by boat, at no extra charge. Average sightseeing time is about 1 hour. Boats do not run to a timetable, so you may visit the valley as soon as you arrive if you wish.
MOTO TT MOTORCYCLE TRACK DAYS
MotoTT holds regular motorcycle track days at Taupo Motorsport Park. These track days are designed to be a fun, non competitive environment in which to test your bike and riding skills. Go as fast or as slow as you like with no cars (or police) to worry about. Riders are given sessions of 25 minutes (10-12 laps on the full 3.5km track). Spaces are limited so booking is essential to secure a place.
3,2,1 BUNGY!
Considered to be one of the most spectacular bungy jumps in New Zealand, so come and take the plunge and a dip in the water if requested. This is the most exhilarating plunge down to the Waikato River from a cantilever platform. This is an awesome experience, not to be missed and not for the faint hearted! This tourist spot is also worth the visit to watch others Bungy!
RAPIDS JET
The Rapids Jet operate on the biggest rapids for commercial jet boating in New Zealand, experience the rush as you shot through a narrow canyon, be exhilarated by spins on crystal clear water,spot a trout and surf the pressure waves of the awesome Nga Awapurua Falls. and learn about the wildlife and history of the local area with your kiwi owner/drivers Gazza/Jimmy and Rusty.
TOPGUN PAINTBALL
Paintball is a fantastic pursuit game, putting the minds of individuals against others, however a successful outcome over your opposition will be determined by your team’s ability to communicate - includes masks, overalls, paint markers and 40 rounds of paintballs. A minimum of 6-9 players required – reduced cost for extra players.
MT RUAPEHU - WHAKAPAPA AND TUROA SKI FIELDS
New Zealand’s largest ski area. Ski hire, snowboard hire, ski school, ski shop, ski workshop, 13 cafes and bars, crèche, ski patrol. Summer chairlift rides available for sightseeing. Guided walks to Mt Ruapehu crater are also available.

Just five minutes drive from Greenfields you will find the internationally acclaimed Wairakei International Golf Course. This course has been rated by prestigious US Golf Magazine to be in the top 20 golf courses outside of the United States of America.
Another internationally acclaimed Golf course located just 15 minutes away is The Kinloch Club New Zealands only Jack Nicklaus Signature Golf Course.
